There’s something about chinchillas that makes them look like little furry smooshable marshmallows. It just looks like you could stick a finger in their little tummy and it would just sink right in. I’ve never gotten to pet a chinchilla — are they as soft as they look?

Even softer! It’s been over 10 years, but I still remember what that little furry fellow felt like. We saw some at an exhibit on a school trip to Moody Gardens in Galveston, where we actually got to handle them. And yes, your finger would just sink right in.

I have a chinchilla as a pet named “Mr. Rubison Theodor Shneedbly” hehe and he is so cute and fluff. He likes to have his belly and under his chin rubbged! And he jumps around like a rabbit.
